Bottle for Botol is an Australian-based social enterprise working with Indonesian schools since 2013 to
​help prevent plastic waste entering our streams, rivers and oceans. 

My family rarely uses and burns the plastic waste anymore. Everyday I also don't use plastic bottles. Now, I use bottles given by the Bottle for Botol program.           Thank you BfB!"

Through education that inspires, we connect people globally to create local solutions to plastic pollution.
​That way, future generations can experience the wonder of our oceans.

Our values

Transformative - everything we do at BfB is life-changing. From our grassroots education program to our conversation-starting bottles, we find ways to show people the big potential they have in shaping the planet that ought to be. By facilitating these transformative moments, we inspire our key stakeholders to rally around our vision for a sustainable future. That’s why we choose to trek the path less travelled and do things like gain new insights, implement best practice and measure our impact reliably.

Every day actions - we’re people who see value in the every day acts. Most of us arrived at BfB wanting to do our personal part in saving the planet. It makes for some good storytelling, but more importantly, it proves that small habits can and do go a long way. We cherish that simplicity.

Togetherness - we include people everywhere to make our oceans cleaner. As the saying goes, we go further when we work together. This is a global challenge that involves people of all cultures and fostering that collaboration is an important part of who we are. We respect the abilities of the communities in which we work to identify challenges and solutions for themselves, and believe local knowledge is key to implementing successful initiatives. In unifying a tribe of change-makers around the world, collaboration ensures we have strength in numbers to do some lasting good.

​Steadfast and transparent - we're people who put in the hard yards, no matter the hurdle. We strive to be critical, questioning and self-reflective, and through this we stay committed to our partners. We’re open and honest and we welcome ideas and input from the community. 

Resilience - working towards a sustainable future can be challenging. When times get tough, we make sure we encourage and support each other. We value everyone’s skills, and acknowledge we are all learning together. We encourage self-care to achieve this.

Fun - we take the same approach to fun as we do our work – we give it our all. This means we look for people who take their work seriously, but not themselves. It also means we’re folks who can bring our flair to the fun, whether on a bottle design or at training day.
