By Dode Gargitha Four students from Croydon Hills Primary School came to visit SDN 2 Canggu on Tuesday, July 4th 2017. They are Brei, Ashton, Bela and Heiley. Brei and Ashton are from Grade 6, while Bela and Heiley are from Grade 3. They came to Bali ontheir holiday with their parents. They brought some letters to give to SDN 2 Canggu’s students, written by the Year 5 and 6 students of Croydon Hills Primary School about their school and their hope for a better environment. Although SDN 2 Canggu students were still in holiday, many students came to school just to see their friends from Australia. The students exchanged some information related to their school activity at each school and did a very fun question and answer. A lot of the students from SDN 2 Canggu were very interested to ask questions to the students from Australia. They really want to know how the school in Australia is running.
Each student from the different country also performing a special song. The students from Croydon Hills Primary School performed their school’s anthem, while the students from Bali performing the “Ambu Putih” (traditional) song. They did it very well and were very enthusiastic. SDN 2 Canggu has a commitment to reduce their single use-plastic consumption, therefore they provided food without plastic packaging. They used a traditional food package with banana leaf instead. The Australian students were very interested in this kind of food, and said it had a good taste. At the end of the visitation, they shook hands and the students from Australia said “Thank you for having us”, while students in Bali said “Thank you for coming”. They all look very happy on that day. And for sure, at the end they got a group photo.
