Complete Program 2016

In the current model, Bottle for Botol partners students in Australia and Indonesia on a joint mission to reduce consumption of single-use plastic. The ultimate aim of each Australian school is to sell enough water bottles to allow Bottle for Botol to supply students at their partner school in Indonesia with an eight-week environmental education program and a stainless steel water bottle at its conclusion. The canteen then switches from single-use plastic aqua cups to galon water dispensers.
As more Australian and Indonesian schools work through the Bottle for Botol program, we start to build a generation that questions society’s need for single-use plastic and actively
seeks alternatives that are more environmentally sustainable.
The new ‘taster’ program is a simplified and shortened version of our existing model. It is ideal for schools who want to provide their students with the opportunity to become leaders in creating a shift in attitudes and behaviours towards the use of single-use plastic, but cannot commit to our complete program, which requires ongoing involvement each year.
The taster program is flexible and is designed to fit into either a two-week block or divided across two lessons within the semester – ideal for providing content for a sustainability unit offered in the curriculum. The program benefits students who are exposed to a real life example of an organisation which exists to prevent plastic pollution. It also gives the school community an opportunity to fundraise for a cause which they feel passionate about – something in which we have received a growing amount of interest.
